These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and PrivatePrescriptions.co.uk (operated by Private Prescriptions Limited, referred to as "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using our Website and Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our Website or Services.
1. About PrivatePrescriptions.co.uk and Our Services
1.1. Our Role: PrivatePrescriptions.co.uk is an online platform that facilitates the comparison of prices for private prescriptions across a network of General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registered pharmacies in the United Kingdom. We enable users to upload their valid private prescriptions, receive quotes, and then facilitate the secure ordering and delivery of medications from a chosen dispensing pharmacy.
1.2. Not a Healthcare Provider (Platform Only): While we facilitate access to medication, PrivatePrescriptions.co.uk itself does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or directly dispense medication. Our role is limited to being a comparison and facilitation service. All dispensing, clinical checks, and professional pharmaceutical advice are provided by the GPhC-registered dispensing pharmacy.
2. User Eligibility
2.1. You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services. By using our Services, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.
2.2. You must be a resident of the United Kingdom to use our Services.
2.3. You must possess a valid private prescription issued by a qualified and registered UK prescriber.
3. Your Responsibilities
3.1. Accuracy of Information: You are solely responsible for providing accurate, complete, and truthful information, including your personal details, contact information, payment details, and the details of your uploaded private prescription. Any inaccuracies may lead to delays, incorrect dispensing, or refusal to fulfill your order, for which we bear no liability.
3.2. Valid Prescription: You must upload a valid and legible private prescription issued by a UK-registered prescriber (e.g., doctor, dentist, independent pharmacist prescriber). We reserve the right to verify the authenticity and validity of any prescription with the issuing prescriber.
3.3. No Self-Prescribing/Abuse: You must not use our Services to obtain medication for unlawful purposes, for self-prescribing, or to obtain medication that is not genuinely prescribed for you.
3.4. Consultation with Your Doctor: Our Service is not a substitute for professional medical advice or consultation with your GP or other healthcare professional. You must consult your prescriber regarding the suitability of any medication and any questions about your health.
3.5. Medication Use: It is your responsibility to read all patient information leaflets and instructions provided with your medication and to take your medication as prescribed by your doctor. If you have any concerns or experience side effects, you must consult a healthcare professional.
3.6. Secure Handling: You must ensure the security of your account login details. Any activity under your account is your responsibility.
3.7. Compliance with Terms: You agree to comply with these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations.
4. The Prescription Process
4.1. Prescription Submission: You will upload an image or scan of your valid private prescription via our Website.
4.2. Verification & Pricing: Our team will verify the prescription's validity and accuracy. We will then source price comparisons from our network of GPhC-registered pharmacies, to provide you with the most competitive price(s).
4.3. Acceptance of Quote: Once you receive the quotes, you can choose the option that best suits your needs and proceed to order.
4.4. Clinical Review: Before any medication is dispensed, the chosen dispensing pharmacy is legally required to conduct a thorough clinical review of your prescription to ensure its safety and appropriateness for you. They may contact you or your prescriber for clarification if needed.
4.5. Refusal to Dispense: A dispensing pharmacy reserves the right to refuse to dispense a prescription if, in their professional judgment, it is not clinically appropriate, if the prescription is invalid, or if there are any safety concerns. In such cases, you will be notified, and any payment processed will be refunded.
5. Pricing and Payment
5.1. Pricing: Prices displayed on our Website are provided by our partner pharmacies represent the cost of the medication and the dispensing fee. Delivery costs may be separate and clearly indicated.
5.2. Best Price Guarantee: Our "Best Price Guarantee" aims to provide you with the most competitive price from our network. However, prices can fluctuate, and the actual price may vary slightly at the time of dispensing due to market changes or specific pharmacy policies. We will always confirm the final price before you commit to purchase.
5.3. Payment: Payment for your prescription will be processed securely via our third-party payment gateway. We do not store your full payment card details. By placing an order, you authorise the selected pharmacy to charge your chosen payment method for the agreed amount.
6. Delivery
6.1. Delivery Service: Your medication will be delivered by a reputable third-party courier service (e.g., Royal Mail, DPD) or by the dispensing pharmacy's own delivery service.
6.2. Delivery Times: Estimated delivery times are provided for guidance only and are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by the courier service or unforeseen circumstances.
6.3. Safe Delivery: Medications will be packaged discreetly. It is your responsibility to ensure that someone is available to receive the delivery at the provided address. Medications requiring refrigeration or special handling will be delivered appropriately.
6.4. Undeliverable Orders: If an order cannot be delivered due to your fault (e.g., incorrect address, failure to collect), you may be liable for redelivery costs or the cost of the medication if it cannot be safely returned or re-dispensed.
7. Refunds and Cancellations
7.1. Cancellation: Orders can typically only be cancelled if the dispensing process has not yet begun. Once a prescription has been dispensed by a pharmacy, it cannot be cancelled or returned due to safety regulations.
7.2. Refunds: Refunds for valid cancellations will be processed promptly. Refunds for dispensed medication are generally not possible due to safety and legal restrictions, unless the medication is faulty, damaged in transit, or incorrectly dispensed. Please refer to the specific dispensing pharmacy's refund policy which will apply once your order is confirmed with them.
